What to include when you contact us

To help us answer quickly and accurately, please include as much of the following as you can:

  • Your QuickBooks version and year (for example, QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021)
  • The exact error message, copied word for word or as a screenshot
  • The size of your company file and its type -- .QBW, .QBB, or .QBM
  • What happened right before the problem started (an upgrade, a power loss, a network drop, a crash)
  • Whether you have any older backup of the file (.QBB or an earlier .QBW)

The more detail you give us up front, the faster our engineers can tell you what is recoverable and what the next step is.
