  • Nothing comes out of the printer when you print from QuickBooks, but other programs print fine.

What you can safely try first

Work from the operating system inward:

  • Confirm the printer itself works: open Start > Settings > Printers, right-click the printer, choose Properties, and use Print Test Page.
  • Check the Windows print spooler setting; clear any stuck jobs in the queue.
  • If the test page fails, install a fresh printer driver from Windows Update or the manufacturer's site.
  • Inside QuickBooks, review File > Printer Setup and your Print Forms settings to make sure the right printer and form alignment are selected.

Printing trouble sometimes travels with QuickBooks errors 117 and 146. If those appear alongside the print failure, the issue may extend past the printer into the program install or the data file.
